Blackburn Rovers FPA v Burnley FPA golf match
26 August 2015 | Nelson Golf Club
Brought to you by the Blackburn Rovers Former Players Association (BRFPA)
Be a rover for the day – join us for a golf match to remember, and a chance to help Blackburn Rovers beat Burnley once again!
26 August 2015 will see Nelson Golf Club welcome former players from both Blackburn Rovers FC and Burnley FC to renew old rivalries for an 18 hole stableford golf competition.
We’re looking for 10 teams to compete in this unique opportunity for fans to play golf with former players.
The special event will include tea/coffee/bacon sandwiches from 11:30am, with tee off and shotgun start at 1pm followed by dinner and presentations at 6:30pm. Dinner will also feature Steve Kindon former Burnley FC player as the after dinner speaker.
Cost of team including the above is £285 (each team will need three amateurs players with an ex-player joining each team to make a total of four players).
All proceeds are shared equally between the two former players associations and NSIF (Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation), the charity chosen by the captain of Nelson, Ian Brennan.
Last year’s inaugural match, was held on ‘neutral’ territory at Stonyhurst Park and resulted in a tie, so BRFC could still be the first winners!
